ESP creates interface with One Golf Network 2010-02-09
ESP, the leading software provider to over 200 golf clubs in the UK, has announced they are to create an interface with One Golf Network, Gemini Network Media’s central database of tee times. One Golf Network is endorsed by the EGU and is accessible for both clubs and golfers via the EGU Golf Central website.

Surrey-based ESP, whose clients include the 31 strong Crown Group, have responded to the opportunity to market their clubs’ tee times via One Golf Network’s partner websites.

By uploading your tee times to the powerful One Golf Network central database, it is possible to market your club across a network of partner websites whilst ensuring you remain in complete control.

By creating an interface with One Golf Network, ESP are able to ensure that their clubs can take advantage of marketing their tee times across the growing network of partner websites including EGU Golf Central and Telegraph online, and onto the two million plus golfers who are increasingly using the internet to book their golf.

It’s not only ESP client clubs who can market their tee times online through One Golf Network. All clubs can have their tee times included and have the choice of three ways to participate: through EGU Golf Central, by choosing Golf Club Network to host their club website or by adding the One Golf Network tee time software to their club website. More details can be found at www.onegolfnetwork.co.uk.

ESP Managing Director, David Ross, commented “The proportion of tee times our customers are selling online is rising fast and we want to ensure our clubs can take advantage of the additional marketing opportunities One Golf Network creates whilst retaining all the benefits and ease of use of our proven tee sheet management software. ”

John Petrie, Chief Executive of the English Golf Union, stated “I’m delighted that ESP have chosen to support One Golf Network – this is an important step forward in allowing our member clubs to maximise green fee revenues and make it easier for all those golfers who want to arrange their golf online.”

Gemini Network Media’s Managing Director, Jane Carter, added “Every club has tee times that are neither sold to visitors nor used by members. We are creating powerful marketing channels with the EGU, our partners and independent software vendors such as ESP to sell these tee times and boost club revenues.”

2009 Round-Up 2009-12-31
In a year which has seen a decline in most business sectors, the golf & leisure sector has remained fairly buoyant. When we met at our two seminars in May, you were telling us how you had needed to change your approach to membership by offering more by direct debit, and ESP demonstrated some simple methods of communicating more with your customers.

Online bookings have been embraced by the golfer this year, with more clubs choosing to use ESP’s online booking portal to sell their tee times online. Using the online booking portal has many benefits; providing an online booking system improves service to your members whilst increasing productivity at the club. Online Promotion Codes also allows targeted marketing – a predefined set of rules checks that validity of the code, which automatically applies the promotional price before the payment is made.

VAT Rate Change 2009-12-01
In November 2008, the chancellor announced that VAT would change to 15% with effect on the 1st December 2008, reverting to 17.5% on 1st January 2010.

In 2008, ESP made some changes to your system so that the revised VAT rate was applied automatically on the 1st December. This was done without affecting your business operation and did not change any of your VAT inclusive prices.

If we made this change for you, your Elite Management System will automatically revise the VAT rate on 1st January 2010 to 17.5%, and will not alter your VAT inclusive prices.

Please remember that the VAT Rate is due to change, and calculate price changes accurately. Your Elite Management System is a real-time system and calculates VAT at the current prevailing rate.

Hayling Island Sailing Club Chooses Elite 2009-12-01
Hayling Island Sailing Club has chosen ESP’s Elite Management System to revolutionise the way it manages its operation. The club has a club-house; accommodation blocks and has a large active membership base.

As well as running a large number of social events, the club also runs a busy fixture list; using the Elite Management System means that member of the club’s administration staff knows which way the wind blows and can easily lay their hands on the information that they need without the need to refer to numerous diaries or spreadsheets.

bookatee.com Lands In The Bunker 2009-09-01
ESP has moved the servers that run your book a tee online booking portal to a secure bunker deep in the heart of the Kent countryside. This move pre-empts the higher volumes of traffic that we anticipate in 2010, as well as making the secure payment engine even more secure, whilst giving us more capacity to add additional functionality.

Our move to the bunker bolsters our position within the online booking system market place. We have some additional functionality lined up for 2010 – the ability to book your hotel rooms online will feature heavily.

If you haven’t considered online bookings yet, here are a couple of pointers to why it’s a good idea.

• A flat monthly rate and that’s it. So if your green fee costs £25.00, that’s what you get, not cut down by a 20% third party commission.

• Your website is where golfers can book – if your website is working well within Google, chances are golfers will book through your site.

• If you let a third party market your tee times, they can’t be giving your tee times the highest priority.

• Don’t keep the Card Security Code (the 3 digit code on rear of card). Websites that do are operating outside of Visa & MasterCard’s rules.

New Elite Property Management System Installed In Lakeside Lodge, Gatton Manor, Abbotsley, Cottesmore & Padbrook Park 2009-01-15
ESP recently launched the Elite Property Management System (PMS); a module designed to integrate with the other Elite Modules, this time providing accommodation reservation management (known as property management) into the central booking module. The launch of this module is a replacement for ESP's older text based "Hotel" module, which will reach retirement age in the very near future. This module has already been installed into two new sites (Les Ormes and Royal Southern Yacht Club). Users of the older version have now completed the migration to the new module, including Lakeside Lodge, Gatton Manor, Abbotsley, Cottesmore and Padbrook Park. The recent set of upgrades means there are more than a dozen sites using Elite PMS module.

The new module turns a corner in integrated solutions; now it is possible for an operator to make a single reservation for a room, spa treatment, and leisure class or tee time without the need to login to four or five different reservation systems.
